Getting on/off a private bus; driving short distances. Walking 1-2 miles throughout the day; varied terrain including asphalt, maintained trails, packed and/or soft loose sand.
In the hotel restaurant, we will have plated breakfast with choices such as eggs and breakfast meats plus beverage choices of milk, juice, coffee, tea, water included; other beverages available for purchase.
We will gather in the meeting room, for a presentation by our Study Leader on local geology. We will then walk out to the beach in front of the hotel for a naturalist-led beach walk (weather permitting) to see how geology has shaped the rugged coast of the Pacific Northwest. We will keep an eye out for wildlife such as crabs, seabirds, and sea lions that call this marine environment home.

A former fisherman will tell us about commercial fisheries and give us a lesson on how to crack our great Northwest Dungeness crab! After our seafood snack, we will set out via bus on a field trip to a local park. As we walk, we will explore and learn about the local ecology and environment.
We will ride to a nearby restaurant for a lesson about local oysters by restaurant staff and have a plated dinner with beverage choices of soda, coffee, tea, water included; other beverages available for purchase.
