In the 1830s, in upstate New York, a young man named Joseph Smith encountered an angel and later found gold plates with an as-yet unknown story that Jesus had been in the Americas. Smith's religious vision would be innovative, shocking the Protestant country with new teachings, new scriptures and new temples. He would found what many consider to be a deeply American faith. Join expert instructor Dr. Brian Carwana to explore one of the most dynamic religious movements ever born on American soil.
