At a Glance

As archaeologists delve deeply into the evening activities of ancient humanity, Rob Weiner explores the nightlife of the people of Chaco Canyon. A center of religious and political power in the ancient U.S. Southwest from the years 850 to 1200, Rob guides you through an experiential exploration that combines evidence from both archaeology and ethnography. Learn about this culture’s rituals after dark, from astronomy to fire and gambling. Rob will show you how the nighttime Chacoan society’s patterns differed from those during the day, and the impact that had across the Four Corners region.
