All aboard an educational odyssey of epic proportions! Your home is our first ever floating campus, the Aegean Odyssey, the perfect vessel to bring you up close to some of the most revered locales on Earth. Beginning in Bangkok, you’ll join local experts in nine countries on a monumental journey to some of the world’s greatest wonders, from Cambodia’s magnificent Angkor Wat to Egypt’s alluring sphinx to Greece’s ancient Acropolis. During your days at sea, enjoy expert-led lectures, the ship’s well-stocked library, and dining experiences paired with the regions we’ll be exploring. During your days on land, discover both iconic landmarks and off-the-beaten-path gems as you immerse yourself in the local culture and history of each enthralling new destination. Pack a small overnight bag in preparation for four special field trips on land, complete with hotel stays, including a three-day wildlife safari in Kenya and a two-day, expert-led exploration of Cambodia’s legendary Angkor Wat complex. Through it all, you’ll be in the company of Road Scholars as dedicated to learning and adventure as you are — a true odyssey of friendship and discovery.

Best of all, you'll ...

  • Fly to Siem Reap and spend two days learning about Cambodia’s Angkor Wat complex, full of magnificent remains, including a tuk-tuk ride to the legendary jungle-invaded monastery of Ta Prohm.
  • Fly to Nairobi, Kenya for a three-day wildlife safari in Maasai Mara National Park, where you’ll spot exotic animals on a series of game drives, embark on fascinating nature walks, and attend a presentation on Maasai culture and customs.
  • Set off for Luxor, where you’ll spend a day discovering the wonders of the West Bank, including the breathtaking temple complex of Karnak, and a full day exploring the east bank, from ancient Thebes to the Valley of Kings.
  • Sail exclusively with ship mates who are all Road Scholar participants, as dedicated to learning as you are.

General Notes

We’ll have up to 350 Road Scholar participants on the ship, divided into groups of 35 for shore excursions. Please note roommate matching is available in categories F, H and L. Want to experience even more of the world’s wonders? Check out our full World Academy voyage (23678).
