Extension: The Best of Oaxaca & Oaxaca City

Begin your learning adventure in Mexico with a three-night pre-extension as you delve into the archaeological sites and colonial-era architecture of Oaxaca.

Keep the Pace
Walking up to two miles daily over varied terrain. Walking and standing in museums up to an hour. Elevations up to 7,200 feet.

  • Enjoy a special farewell dinner at the Hacienda de los Morales.

General Notes

Max of 120 participants divided into groups or activities. To maintain a small group feel amid a large group program, the order of the daily schedule will vary per group. Smaller groups will each do different activities during the day, joining back together as a large group for some programming. "Extension: The Best of Oaxaca & Oaxaca City" (#22741) is offered in conjunction with this program.

Arturo Vertiz knew from an early age that he wanted to work in the travel industry, focusing on learning English and French in school. Graduating with a degree in tourism and business administration, he worked in the hotel industry before founding his own travel agency. Arturo’s greatest honor was being chosen to manage the housing complex for athletes participating in the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara. As a Group Leader and a Mexican national, Arturo loves interacting with visitors in search of learning experiences.
