Breakfast at hotel. The breakfast buffet offers choices such as a hot egg dish, breakfast meats, fruit, cheese, yogurt, fresh-baked croissants, bread, cereals, milk, juice, coffee, tea, water.
We will check out of the hotel and shuttle to the Ferry Terminal. We will then board a ferry for a scheduled 3-hour voyage to Picton in the South Island. After leaving Wellington Harbour, where many coastal suburbs are visible, the ferry crosses Cook Strait between the two islands before entering the sheltered waters of scenic Marlborough Sounds, the setting for numerous holiday homes as well as aquaculture projects. Upon arrival on the South Island, we will board the motorcoach for the drive to Blenheim.
At Wairau River Winery Restaurant at Blenheim, we will have a 2-course plated meal with one glass of wine, tea, coffee and water is included. Other beverages will be available for purchase. This is one of the favourites out of the 45 wineries in the District. We will also hear an expert-led lecture and participate in hands on wine tasting.
We will board the motorcoach for a field trip to the beautiful Hortensia House garden of Huguette Michel, with French influence and a streamside setting. Huguette will guide us through the garden and you will hear about its style and history. Afterwards, we will reach the hotel and check in.
At the hotel, we will have a 2-course plated meal with a glass of wine, coffee tea and water included. Other beverages will be available for purchase.
