Built in 1909 to house the many visitors to the college, Boone Tavern Hotel, part of the Historic Hotels of America, has gained a reputation for elegant dining and a welcoming atmosphere. Berea College students play a big part at Boone Tavern Hotel by providing guests with friendly and courteous service in the Hotel and Dining Room. These students work 10 to 15 hours weekly while carrying a full academic load. Since 1855, all of Berea's 1500 students are employed in one or more of 140 work areas at the college.
