At the hotel we will have an overview lecture about Miami, We’ll board a motorcoach to explore the Coral Gables neighborhood with expert commentary. Located in southwest Miami, Coral Gables was developed during the Florida land boom of the 1920’s. One of the first planned communities, it is home to landmarks such as the Biltmore Hotel, George Merrick House, and Venetian Pool. Re-boarding the motorcoach, we will ride through the Coconut Grove neighborhood, which is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Miami, that boasts a diverse history providing a haven for artists, musicians, and writers.

We will explore the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami. During our field trip, we’ll see how an area once suffering from urban blight, race riots, and gang violence has transformed into a incubator for artists and creative entrepreneurs. We’ll see the large scale murals, thriving street artists, and the inspiring history that has made it one of the most renowned creative neighborhoods in the world. Stop by a private collection to get a better understanding of the neighborhood as a whole and see some of the famous art.
