Recently refurbished and transformed into a modern 3 star hotel, the structure was a Franciscan monastery. The patio is set in a four acre garden with citrus trees, herbs (for use in the kitchen), flowers and shrubs--an oasis following a day of exploration. From the garden and the roof-top balcony and restaurant, gaze upon the magnificent Cupola of S. Peter's Basilica--about a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. The Bar is a traditional Italian espresso bar and also an American bar. In addition the hotel employs artisans who make "gelato" and pastries on the premises; there is also a gift shop that sells their roasted coffees, tea and herbal teas, cosmetics and soaps.
