Secluded at the end of a long lane, Shepherd’s Spring Outdoor Ministry Center provides Road Scholars with a relaxing place to “unplug” and focus on meaningful activities and ideas. Simple yet comfortable rooms are equipped with a luggage rack, dresser, desk, chair and reading lamps. Views of meadows, woods and wildlife surround the spacious dining hall, and meditation trails winding through the center’s 220-acre grounds provide a contemplative connection to nature. Road Scholars can gather over the lodge’s board games and puzzles, while the Oasis Room offers a quiet retreat for enjoying a book from the lodge library. Good to know: Alcohol-free facility. No TVs or phones in rooms. No Internet access; limited cell phone service. Housekeeping once a week.
