Activity note: Hotel check-in from 3:00 p.m.

Afternoon: Program Registration begins at 3 PM at the hotel. After you have your room assignment, come over to the Road Scholar table to register with the program staff and get your welcome packet containing your up-to-date schedule that reflects any last-minute changes, and other important information.where the Orientation session will take place. Please remember to bring your name tag sent with this packet to the program. If your arrival is delayed, please ask for your packet when you check in. Orientation: The Group Leader will greet everyone with a warm welcome and lead introductions. We will review the up-to-date program schedule and any changes, discuss roles and responsibilities, logistics, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer any questions you may have. Free time is reserved for your personal independent exploration. Please be aware that program activities, schedules, and personnel may need to change due to local circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Dinner: Get to know your fellow Road Scholar participants with a welcome dinner at the hotel.

Evening: Join a discussion lead by a theatre faculty member about the play to be seen Tuesday, as well as insight into the faculty's opinions of other plays available on Thursday night during free time. (Participants interested in attending performances on Thursday's free evening or on nights pre- or post-program must arrange their own transportation and ticketing. Please see Day Four for additional details.)

Activity note: Roughly 3 hours of standing and walking at museums; walking up to a couple of blocks at night, some stairs

Breakfast: In the hotel, breakfast choices include: oatmeal, cereal, fruit, eggs, toast and pastries, plus coffee, tea, water.

Morning: We will depart the hotel by motorcoach for a full day of exploration at the Norman Rockwell Museum where we will enjoy a morning class on the museums collection lead by an art educator.

Lunch: Boxed lunch at museum.

Afternoon: After lunch, join a docent for a guided visit of the Norman Rockwell Museum. Have time afterword to explore museum individually. Free time. Take this opportunity for personal independent exploration to see and do what interests you most. Please refer to the list of Free Time Opportunities. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions.

Dinner: Buffet dinner at hotel.

Evening: This evening enjoy a performance from one of the following theatre company’s; Berkshire Theater Co., Shakespeare and Company, Barrington Stage Co. or Williamstown Theatre Festival. The 2021 performances will be updated in February of 2021.

Theatre & Dance Class, Jacob's Pillow

Activity note: Walking up to a few blocks at Jacob's Pillow over gravel and wood-chip pathways, uneven, grassy terrain at night following performance

Breakfast: Hotel buffet.

Morning: Theatre review class with our expert theatre faculty member, followed by class on contemporary dance, with Andrea Borak.

Lunch: Buffet lunch at hotel

Afternoon: Optional films about Jacob's Pillow's early days and about Boston Symphony Orchestra' musicians' summer lives at Tanglewood. Coach bus trip to Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival in Becket. Tour of the grounds.

Dinner: At Jacob's Pillow

Evening: Following dinner, weather permitting, enjoy the Inside Out performance. Also enjoy a pre-performance talk by a Pillow staff expert. This evening enjoy a dance performance at Jacob’s Pillow. Actual performances will be listed in February 2021.

Closed Rehearsal at Tanglewood, Talks & Walks, Free Evening

Activity note: Full day with more than 6 hours away from the hotel; walking an estimated distance of 2 football-fields over grassy terrain and roughly paved paths with slight inclines.

Breakfast: Hotel buffet.

Morning: We will spend the day at Tanglewood in Lenox, with two or more hours as the special guests of the BSO in their otherwise closed rehearsal.

Lunch: Lunch at on the Tanglewood grounds.

Afternoon: In the Linde Center for Music and Learning at Tanglewood, we will hear a live interview with a musician or BSO staff member. The talk will be followed by an important orienteering tour of the grounds with your group leader.

Dinner: On your own for dinner. You will be provided with a list of restaurants.

Evening: Free evening to explore the area or take in a performance on your own. You will be provided with a complete list of restaurants and performance options when you arrive. Morning: Morning music class to prepare for your fullest enjoyment of the concert tonight.

Lunch: Buffet lunch at hotel

Afternoon: Class review of Jacob's Pillow performance Wednesday, with a local expert. Free time.

Dinner: Meal at Tanglewood. Enjoy a farewell dinner and share our favorite experiences with new Road Scholar friends.

Evening: Enjoy the Boston Symphony Orchestra Concert.

Morning: This concludes our program. If you have selected to take the Road Scholar shuttle, it will leave promptly at 9:00 a.m. The drive will be 2.5-3 hours, depending on traffic. If you are transferring to another Road Scholar program, detailed instructions are included in your Information Packet for that program.
