Dinner: 5:15 pm - Transfer to Dixie State University for a delicious banquet dinner.

Evening: Following dinner have a brief welcome orientation and overview of our daily activities and itinerary. After orientation we'll have a brief introduction to photography class.

Breakfast: 6:30 - 8:00 am - Breakfast buffet at College Inn which includes hard boiled eggs, hot oatmeal, cereal, fruit, yogurt, pastries, toast, coffee, tea, milk & juice.

Morning: Photo shoots in Zion National Park. Riverside Walk: Learn about photographing in different colors and kinds of light as hues from the canyon walls reflect in the waters of the Virgin River as it cuts through the multicolored Navajo sandstone, and flowers and ferns grow from “weeping” canyon walls.

Lunch: Buffet lunch at Arkansas Al's in Springdale.

Afternoon: Continue in Zion National Park. Transfer to hotel for 2:00 pm Photo Class.

Dinner: Dinner at Wildcat Willies.

Evening: Depart for a sunset photo shoot. From Canyon Junction, photograph dispersed rays of light from the setting sun illuminating The Watchman as it stands guard over the Virgin River.

Breakfast: Sunrise photo shoot in Zion National Park. Photograph the Towers of the Virgin as the sun rises above the eastern canyon walls and magnificently and magically brings life to the towering cliffs of Navajo Sandstone. Return to hotel for breakfast buffet which includes fresh fruit, yogurt, assorted baked goods, cereal, pancakes, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, sausage, breakfast potatoes, coffee, assorted teas, juice and milk.

Morning: Depart for additional photo shoots in Zion National Park. Capture and experience some of the diversity and color found in places such as Emerald Pools and The Court of the Patriarchs.

Lunch: Box Lunch on the trail.

Afternoon: Transfer to hotel for 2:00 p.m. photo class.

Dinner: Enjoy fine southwestern cuisine at the Bit and Spur Restaurant and Saloon in Springdale just across from our Hotel.

Evening: Enjoy a relaxing evening on your own.

Morning: Depart and travel northeast on two of America’s Scenic Byways, highways 89 and 12, to Bryce Canyon National Park. Explore and photograph the fascinating Hoodoo formations at Red Canyon.

Lunch: Have lunch at Ruby's, near the entrance to Bryce Canyon. Ruby's puts on a great buffet.

Afternoon: Continue exploring and capturing the magical shapes, shadows, and variety of colors found in the hoodoo formations of Bryce Canyon.

Dinner: 6:00 pm - Buffet Dinner at Ruby's Cowboy Buffet & Steak Room.

Evening: Free evening to rest, relax, and further explore Bryce Canyon National Park on your own.

Breakfast: Sunrise Photo Shoot in Bryce Canyon. Photograph the magical glowing hoodoos as the rising sun seemingly brings them to life and gives a fresh perspective that can only be seen by the light of the early morning sun. Return to Hotel for Breakfast. Breakfast at Ruby's Cowboy Buffet which includes fresh fruit, yogurt, assorted baked goods, cereal, scrambled eggs, french toast, oatmeal, smoked bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, coffee, and assorted teas, juice and milk.

Morning: Check out of hotel and travel east on Highway 12, one of America’s Scenic Byways, through the heart of the wild and spectacular Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, the last blank spot of the map of the continental United States.

Lunch: Lunch at Wild West Retreat includes BBQ pork, fresh home-grown vegetables, Dutch Oven potatoes and baked beans, coleslaw, lemonade, and dessert.

Afternoon: Continue traveling along highway 12 through deep canyons cut into sandstone and over an ancient, forested shield volcano, Boulder Mountain, to Torrey, Utah.

Dinner: Dinner at Rim Rock Restaurant.

Evening: Sunset photo shoot in Capitol Reef National Park. Capture desert vistas, white sandstone ridges and domes, and eroded geologic wonders illuminated by rays from the setting sun.

Breakfast: Breakfast at hotel.

Morning: Check out and depart for Capitol Reef National Park. Photo shoot among the towering domes and spires carved by the Fremont River, ancient petroglyphs, and fruit trees around the Gifford Homestead in the desert oasis of the historic Fruita valley. Travel to Green River, Utah.

Lunch: Lunch at the Tamarisk Restaurant in Green River.

Afternoon: Depart after lunch for Moab, Utah. Arrive in the Arches Area and get settled into you hotel room.

Dinner: Dinner on your own.

Evening: Depart for a sunset photo shoot. Photograph, in the evening light, the Windows section of Arches National Park where hundreds of natural windows, fins, and spires stand as a testament to geologic time and the forces of erosion.

Morning: Depart at 6:00 am for morning photo shoot. Capture the rising sun as it rises above myriad canyons carved by the Colorado River as we peer into Canyonlands National Park from Dead Horse Point. Enjoy a box breakfast, which includes a hot breakfast sandwich, coffee, and juice. Travel to Arches National Park for photo shoot. Whether teetering on the edge of a cliff-top mesa or crouching under a rock arch for the perfect angle, this is a landscape so awe inspiring that it is exhilarating to capture it on camera!

Lunch: Box lunch on the trail.

Afternoon: Continue to explore some of the more than 2,000 arches and capture photos of unusual rock formations, deeply eroded canyons interspersed with sheer-sided mesas, balanced rocks and more. Travel and return to the hotel in Moab.

Dinner: Dinner on your own.

Evening: Explore Moab and enjoy an evening out or just relax!

Breakfast: Breakfast at Hotel.

Morning: Checkout and travel to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park. Photo shoot and Monument Valley Jeep Tour. Navajo guides will give you first-hand experiences of their culture and customs. They will take you to places where few people have ventured and let you enjoy nature's marvelous sandstone creations. It will be a spiritual experience for some, and for others it will simply be indescribable.

Lunch: Lunch at Goulding’s Stagecoach Dining Room in Monument Valley which offers a spectacular, panoramic view of one of Mother Nature’s unique creations. Located at the site of many of the classic western movies, enjoy a meal overlooking the historic Goulding’s Trading Post and the same vista that John Wayne, John Ford and Henry Fonda made famous. The dining room is staffed by local Navajos (Dine’) so you'll have the chance to experience the grace and culture of this Southwestern Native American people while enjoying a choice of a traditional Navajo Taco with Navajo Fry Bread, Beef Stew, soup & salad bar, or Club Sandwich.

Afternoon: Continue on to Page, Arizona and check into hotel.

Dinner: Dinner at Lake Powell Resort.

Evening: Free Time

Activity note: Participants will need to walk down 5 flights of steep stairs and back out at Lower Antelope Canyon. These are built in sturdy stairs, but very steep.

Breakfast: 8:00 - 9:00 am - Breakfast Buffet at Lake Powell Resort which includes fresh fruit, yogurt, pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, cereal, assorted pastries, coffee, tea, and juice.

Morning: Photo shoot at Lower Antelope Canyon The Navajo name for Lower Antelope Canyon is Hasdeztwazi or “Spiral Rock Arches.” Many years ago, herds of Pronghorn Antelope roamed freely in and around the canyon, which explains the English name. This incredible canyon has been created by the relentless forces of water and wind, slowly carving and sculpting the sandstone into forms, textures, and shapes which we observe today. The views in Lower Antelope Canyon change constantly as the sun moves across the sky, filtering lights softly across the stone walls. These ever-moving sun angles bounce light back and forth across the narrow canyon’s walls, creating a dazzling display of color, light, and shadow.

Lunch: Lunch at local restaurant.

Afternoon: Depart and travel to St. George.

Dinner: Closing dinner at Dixie State College Conference Room.

Evening: Conclude with a photo finale opportunity to share photos. Take home treasured photos of the world's greatest scenic rock formations!
