A military historian specializing in intelligence and security issues, Nigel West was voted “The Experts' Expert” by a panel of spy writers in 1989. When he’s not sailing the world with Road Scholar, West is the European Editor of the Washington D.C.-based International Journal of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, as well as a lecturer at the Centre for Counterintelligence and Security Studies in Alexandria, Va.

Joseph Cassar

Joseph Paul Cassar is a professor of art at the University of Maryland University College. He designs online art courses for the university as well as for the New York Times Knowledge Network. He also lectures at the Smithsonian Institute, Johns Hopkins University Osher Program, Towson University, Notre Dame University and York College of Pennsylvania. He has written several books on Maltese modern artists and has won awards for academic excellence.
