At a Glance

This five-part online lecture series will take you on a journey through the history, buildings and neighborhood stories that make up New York City — one borough at a time. In part five, John Kriskiewicz, an expert on architecture and city planning, takes you on an exploration of Staten Island, the borough that feels the least like the rest of New York City. It’s the most suburban in character, the least populated, the least connected and the least visited by tourists. John will explore beyond its iconic ferry and delve into stories of Staten Island’s history both before and after the building of the famous Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. You’ll learn about this area’s hidden gems, historic Richmondtown and New York City’s only Frank Lloyd Wright house.
