Questions & Answers

How many winners will there be?
There will be one winner who will receive a voucher for two people to attend Quintessential Britain, along with round-trip airfare to and from the program.

How will you announce the winners and when?
We’ll announce the winner in late April 2025 and will notify them via email or phone.

Suppose I win the program, but I don’t want to go on that particular program?
If you don’t want to attend the program you win, we’ll give you a voucher equal to the value of that prize, and you may apply it to any Road Scholar program of your choice.

What if I am not physically able to participate in the program I win?
If you aren’t physically capable of participating in the program you win, we’ll give you a voucher equal to the value of that prize and you may apply it to any Road Scholar program of your choice.

Who is eligible to participate?
Road Scholar’s Great Britain Giveaway is open to residents of the United States who are 50 and older.

How do I enter?
Any legal resident of the United States age 50 or over who joins the Road Scholar email list between January 15 – April 15, 2025 is eligible to enter the contest. To be successful, the person must not already be on Road Scholar's list. Referrals are excluded from entry.

If I win, will I have to travel in 2025?
No, you will have two years from the date of notification to attend the program you win, or a substitute if you so elect. If you haven’t traveled on your program within that period, you will forfeit your prize.

What is the program prize and its value?
The program prize is Quintessential Britain, including round-trip airfare ($20,000).

Terms & Conditions

Eligibility: Road Scholar’s Great Britain Giveaway is open to all individuals age 50 and older who are legal residents of the United States. Employees, agents and affiliates of Road Scholar, as well as their immediate family members, are not eligible to participate in the giveaway.

Giveaway Period: The giveaway begins on January 15, 2025, and ends on April 15, 2025. All entries made within this period will be eligible for the giveaway.

How do I enter: Any legal resident of the United States age 50 or over who joins the Road Scholar email list between January 15 – April 15, 2025 is eligible to enter the contest. To be successful, the person must not already be on Road Scholar's list. Referrals are excluded from entry.

Prizes: Road Scholar will award one prize, each a “Grand Prize,” consisting of the following program for two people traveling and staying together in a double-occupancy room and airfare from a major gateway airport: Quintessential Britain ($20,000). Costs of attending the program beyond those included in the program’s price and round-trip airfare are the responsibility of the winner.

The Grand Prize is non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash, except that the winner may elect to receive the value of their prize in the form of a voucher to apply to a different Road Scholar program. Road Scholar reserves the right to substitute a Grand Prize with an item of equal or greater value in the event that Grand Prize program becomes unavailable for any reason. The Grand Prize winner is responsible for any federal, state or local income taxes assessed on their prize, and must provide Road Scholar their social security number to claim their prize. The Grand Prize winner will be issued an IRS 1099 tax form for the actual value of the Grand Prize.  

Winner Selection, Notification & Use of Prize: The Grand Prize winner will be selected at random from all the entries received. The Grand Prize winner will be notified via email or phone within ten (10) business days after the end of the giveaway period. The Grand Prize program, or alternative program if elected, must be attended within two years of being notified as a winner. Prizes or vouchers not used by the second anniversary of being notified a winner will expire.   

Publicity Release: By participating in the giveaway, entrants agree to grant Road Scholar the right to use their names, likenesses and testimonials for advertising and promotional purposes without any additional compensation or permission.

General Conditions: Road Scholar reserves the right to disqualify any participant found to be in violation of these terms and conditions or involved in fraudulent activities. Road Scholar is not responsible for any technical malfunctions, errors or delays that may occur during the giveaway period. The decisions made by Road Scholar regarding the giveaway and the selection of winners are final and binding. Road Scholar reserves the right to modify, suspend or terminate the giveaway at any time for any reason without prior notice.

Privacy: Road Scholar will collect and may use entrants’ name, city or town and home state for the purpose of administering the giveaway and for marketing and promotional purposes, as outlined in the Road Scholar Privacy Policy.

Release and Indemnification: By participating in the giveaway, participants agree to release and hold harmless Road Scholar, its affiliates and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability arising from their participation in the giveaway or acceptance and use of the prize.
