Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Nantahala National Forest and Appalachian Trail. In the summer Hinton Center serves as the site for adult and youth groups doing community service projects. Road Scholar participants stay in the Joe Ervin Retreat House. The house has a common area kitchen and satellite TV in living room only. There is no land-line phone service, but there is strong cell phone signal for most carriers. Wireless Internet access in lodge dining hall and lobby. Meals are served buffet style in dining hall. Alcohol and smoke-free facilities.
