At a Glance

Set sail with your grandchildren on the Salish Sea for an epic adventure. Learn to raise the sails of the 101-foot historic schooner, Adventuress (a National Historic Landmark, launched in 1913). It’s “all hands on deck” as you become part of the ship’s crew, working together to keep your quarters clean, set the sails and haul back anchor together each day. Climb aloft, row a small boat and spend some time out on the bowsprit as you explore the Salish Sea. Absorb the history and traditions of tall ships as you sail by day and drop anchor at a different harbor each night. No sailing experience required!
Activity Level
Outdoor: Spirited
Participants raise sails, prepare meals, and keep vessel shipshape. Must be able to climb eight steps up and down a ladder, climb into bunks, and maneuver in small spaces. Beginning sailors welcome.
