Activity note: Orientation

Afternoon: CHECK-IN & REGISTRATION: begins at 3:30 pm in the office of Mayflower Lodge on Pilgrim Pines Campus. Your welcome packet will include your room assignment, name tag, up-to-date schedule, and other information we will review during orientation this evening. Please be aware that scheduled program activities may be changed due to local circumstances. You will be notify of any changes ASAP. Thank you for your understanding. After you register and get settled in your room, join us for coffee and snacks served from 3:30-5:00 pm.

Dinner: WELCOME DINNER will be served buffet style at 6:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room. The menu will include a full salad bar, meat and vegetable entrées, dessert and choice of drinks. Our professional chefs are always available to provide alternative menus upon request.

Evening: ORIENTATION: At 7:15 pm we'll take some time to review the schedule, safety guidelines and emergency procedures for the week, answer questions, meet our instructors and begin to get acquainted with the other Road Scholar participants. Following Orientation there will be opportunities to gather for conversation, snacks, watch TV, play table games, puzzle making, and/or gather around the fire to unwind the day.

Cross-Country Skiing, Snowshoeing at Windblown

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served beginning at 8:00 am in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring choices of cold and hot cereals, bread to toast, scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon,fruit bar with yogurt and granola, plus coffee, tea and juice. Following breakfast you will have the opportunity to create you own bag lunch.

Morning: At 9 am we'll leave by maxi-vans for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at Windblown Ski area located near New Ipswich, NH. (About a 45 minute ride). Windblown has a beautiful lodge to eat our lunch and place to rest. Rental equipment is available as needed. There will be ski lessons for beginners on site as well as coaching for intermediate and advanced skiers and snowshoers.

Lunch: At 12:30 pm we'll break for a bag Lunch in Lodge at Windblown. The lunch will include soup of the day.

Afternoon: After lunch opportunities for individual instruction along with exploring trails and snowshoeing on your own.

Dinner: After a full day of intensive work you are invited to a delicious Dinner served buffet style at 5:30 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room. After announcements and a blessing for the day, the menu will include a full salad bar, meat and vegetable entrées, dessert and choice of drinks. Our professional chefs are always available to provide alternative menus upon request.

Evening: We are planning to show Videos on Cross-Country Skiing which will include instruction and humor. Our evening will conclude with an opportunity for snack in the Dining Room, time to read the paper, gather around the fire, make a puzzle, watch TV or enjoy a time of conversation.

Cross-Country Skiing, Snowshoeing at Timber Creek

Activity note: Opportunities for individual instruction and full day of skiing.

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served beginning at 8:00 am in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring choices of cold and hot cereals, bread to toast, scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon,fruit bar with yogurt and granola, plus coffee, tea and juice. Following breakfast you will have the opportunity to create your own bag lunch.

Morning: Today we are planning to go Skiing & Snowshoeing at Timber Creek Ski area located near Mt Snow in Vermont. (About a one hour ride). Rental equipment is available and the lodge will provide a warm place to eat lunch and rest. All of our daily plans are subject to weather and road conditions. .

Lunch: Around 12:00 noon to 12:30 pm enjoy on-site your brown bag Lunch you created. The lunch will include soup of the day.

Afternoon: Skiing & Snowshoeing with individual instruction continued.

Dinner: After a full day of intensive work you are invited to a delicious VALINTINE CELEBRATION DINNER will be served. The menu will include a full salad bar, meat and vegetable entrées, dessert and choice of drinks. Our professional chefs are always available to provide alternative menus upon request.

Evening: Special Valentine Entertainment will be provided to help us celebrate the day. Following the program you are invited to a time of conversation, board games, puzzle making, snacks or gathering around the fire to conclude the day.

Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing Windblown Harris Center

Activity note: Opportunities for skiing and snowshoeing in the afternoon. Morning will be at Harris Center for instruction in animal tracking and Mammals of the New England region

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served beginning at 8:00 am in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring choices of cold and hot cereals, bread to toast, scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon,fruit bar with yogurt and granola, plus coffee, tea and juice Following breakfast you will have the opportunity to make your lunch. .

Morning: This morning we will leave by maxi vans to travel to the Harris Conservation Center located near Hancock, NH. Established in 1970 by Eleanor Briggs using her grandparents house as a conservation Center resulting today with skilled teachers and naturalists who work with thousands of students in the Monadnock region in "outdoor classrooms". Our session will focus on mammals and winter tracking.

Lunch: At 12:00 nioon we'll break for a bag lunch on site. The lunch will include soup of the day.

Afternoon: This afternoon we plan to ski and snow shoe at Windblown Ski Area located near New Ipswich, NH.

Dinner: 6:00 pm Dinner will be served buffet style in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring meat and vegetarian entrees, full salad bar, dessert and choice of drinks.

Skiing & Snowshoeing at Windblown Ski Area. Homespun

Activity note: Full day of skiing and snow shoeing with outstanding instructors.

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served beginning at 8:00 am in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring choices of cold and hot cereals, bread to toast, scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon,fruit bar with yogurt and granola, plus coffee, tea and juice. Following breakfast you will have an opportunity to make your lunch for the day.

Morning: We plan to leave at 9:00 am to go skiing and snow shoeing at Windblown Ski Area located near New Ipswich, NH or an alternative site weather dependent. Our leaders, Steve and Alison will provide individual instruction and consultation for skiing and snow shoeing on your own.

Lunch: Enjoy your Bag Lunch in the beautiful lodge at Windblown. The lunch will include soup of the day.

Afternoon: Opportunities for Cross-Country Skiing & Snowshoeing continue. On Site Instruction.

Dinner: After a full day of intensive work you are invited to a delicious Dinner served buffet style at 6:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room. After announcements and a blessing for the day, the menu will include a full salad bar, meat and vegetable entrées, dessert and choice of drinks. Our professional chefs are always available to provide alternative menus upon request.

Evening: Homespun is an opportunity for Road Scholars to present a favorite poem, song, story, special talent in an informal setting. At the conclusion of Homespun you are invited to spend time in conversation, enjoy a snack, relax by the fireplace, finish the puzzle or watch TV to wind up your day.

Maple Sugaring, Program Concludes

Breakfast: 7:00 am Yoga in Meetinghouse Breakfast will be served beginning at 7:45 am in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring choices of cold and hot cereals, bread to toast, scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon,fruit bar with yogurt and granola, plus coffee, tea and juice.

Morning: This morning we'll enjoy a class on Maple Sugaring, Bee Keeping and other local traditions. During our morning break, you'll check out of your rooms before our wrap-up session.

Lunch: Farewell luncheon, 11:30 am in the Dining Room. A bag lunch will be available to those who need an early departure. May you travel safe with wonderful memories of developing new skills, enjoying the incredible beauty of this region and glow with the gift of many friends.
