Paddling canoes and learning paddle strokes on the lake.
The breakfast buffet offers hot and cold choices such as pancakes, an egg dish, French toast, hot and cold cereal, a variety of donuts, bagels, and pastries, plus milk, juices, coffee, tea, and pure Sagamore water.
We will work in groups through most of the week, and alternate through activities so everyone gets to take part in all the activities. This morning, one group will be at the waterfront with camp staff for a boating and boathouse orientation that will prepare us for a subsequent canoe trip on Sagamore Lake! The other group will head up to the Playhouse to learn some dance steps in preparation for tonight's barn dance when grand kids will dance with grandparents. We'll switch groups midway through the morning.
In the Dining Hall, buffet choices typically include a hot dish, sandwich meats, cheeses, and condiments, various salads, cookies or granola bars, and a variety of fresh fruits, plus milk, a variety of juices, lemonade, coffee, tea, water.
Especially for kids: After lunch, one group will head up to the Henhouse where we'll begin work on a creative project for the week with Sagamore's Arts & Crafts Director. This project will be a special, nature-focused craft project that we'll work on throughout the week. The possibilities are endless, so use your imagination! The second group will be with our special musician guests, learning some age-appropriate music based on the various outdoor lessons that we will learn about and share this week. Under their guidance and supervision, we'll learn songs and music, using simple instruments like recorders, drums and the lap dulcimer. If there is time remaining, take this opportunity to do what interests you most. You may wish to work more on your craft project, practice your music or dancing, identify wildlife you’ve learned about, or go for a swim. Later in the afternoon each day, led by the Program Staff, grand kids will have their Kid's Club, and grandparents have a chance to socialize or rest.

At the legendary Barn Dance, music by Dan Duggan will fill the air. Grandparents and grandkids will be partners for these fun and lively square dances, which will also allow us to get to know our fellow campers.
