Activity note: The program is designed for all level of students but beginners should have some knowledge of French. Participants must complete an on-line language placement test to determine their French level. The group will then be divided into three groups: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. This program is a total French Immersion experience and Trois-Rivieres is a very French environment. All activities and field trips are conducted in French. Students are expected to speak French while on campus.

Afternoon: Arrivals and transfers to the University in Trois-Rivieres, QC. Check-in between 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Optional airport shuttle scheduled to arrive at 4:30 p.m. Please be aware that program activities and scheduled times could change due to local circumstances. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Dinner: A light welcome buffet dinner will be offered at around 6:30 p.m.

Activity note: Classes are three hours every morning, Monday to Friday (8:30 - 11:30). Each afternoon, you will practice what you just learned in the morning; either by joining workshops or during field trips. You will experience French Immersion at its fullest as all guided tours and field trips are conducted in French.

Breakfast: Breakfast at the cafeteria

Morning: Program presentation with the group leader along with the guide that will travel with you during outings. You will also have an orientation visit of the campus and student cards will be issued.

Lunch: Lunch at the cafeteria

Afternoon: Classes: French As A Foreign Language. The group will be divided into three separate classes: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. Class sizes are between 5 - 17 students depending on the total number of registrants. The emphasis is on developing written and oral skills in International French (not Parisian French). Instructors are university level teachers at UQTR. Most are native to the province of Quebec and have French as their first language.

Activity note: Walking up to 1 mile on city streets; some cobblestones, hills. Coach travel approximately 3.5 hours; about 175 miles.

Breakfast: Breakfast on your own.

Morning: Travel by deluxe coach to Montreal. Visit Musée McCord, which celebrates the people and stories of Montreal's history. Enjoy and expert-led exploration of the museum, home to collections of costumes, decorative art, aboriginal objects, paintings and prints and photographs. See history in a different way.

Lunch: Lunch in Montreal. A group reservation will be made at a restaurant in Montreal, participants will pay for their own lunch.

Afternoon: After lunch there will be free time to visit Old Montreal. Later in the afternoon we will visit St. Joseph's Oratory, a place of nature, culture and spirituality.

Dinner: A group reservation will be made at a restaurant in Montreal, participants will pay for their own dinner.

Evening: Travel back to Trois-Rivieres

Breakfast: Breakfast on your own.

Morning: Travel by school bus to Ferme Nouvelle-France. The heart of our rural and agricultural heritage, Ferme Nouvelle-France provides a wide array of activities and services showcasing the rural and agricultural heritage. A reception hall decorated to reflect the architecture of an old barn, a country market where the villagers sell their produce and local crafts, a mini-farm for the children, an agricultural museum where you can learn about the daily lives of people from this era.

Lunch: A group reservation will be made and participants will pay for their own lunch.

Afternoon: Free time In the beautiful gardens of la Ferme Nouvelle-France. Participants will be back at l’Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières by 4:00 p.m.

Dinner: Dinner on own. Participants will pay for their own meal.

Morning: Travel by deluxe coach to Quebec City to explore the only fortified city in North America. Québec City has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the historic Chateau Frontenac, located inside the walls of Old Quebec. The recent renovations blend the charm of the hotel's enchanting past with modern innovations, creating an allure that is fresh and seductive, balanced with the hotel's rich history and dynamic future.

Lunch: Lunch will be at Restaurant du Musée. A group reservation will be made. Participants will pay for their own meal.

Afternoon: Discover Quebec City accompanied by a local guide. We will explore this fascinating and historical city including Old Quebec, the famous Château Frontenac, Dufferin Terrace, Place-Royale, the Petit-Champlain district, the Old Port, the Citadel and Battlefields Park (the Plains of Abraham). There will be free time to explore on your own.

Dinner: A group reservation will be made in a restaurant in Old Quebec. Participants will pay for their own meal.

Evening: Return to Trois-Rivieres.
