Commissioned in 1926, Route 66 opened the West for two generations of Americans seeking adventure and a new life. Follow our expert on this route of Oakie dust bowlers, the two boys of television’s Route 66, outrageous roadside icons and those seeking to “get their kicks on Route 66.”

Your online lecture will take place live over the course of 1-2 hours. All times are listed in the EASTERN time zone. If you live in a different time zone, please adjust your schedule accordingly. This live online experience uses Zoom Webinar, an easy-to-use web video service that includes closed captioning. All you need is an Internet connection and your computer. You will receive a confirmation email when you enroll and a reminder email one week, one day, as well as the morning of the event with a link and instructions on how to tune in. You will not be pictured on screen during the lecture, but you will have the opportunity to ask questions to the instructor live using the Q&A box. Dr. Ned O’Malia holds a Ph.D. in world religions from Temple University. Hhe was a college professor for more than 40 years, including teaching at the University of New Mexico. While studying Judaism, he lived in a kibbutz in Israel and he has taught about Crypto-Jews in the context of northern New Mexico spirituality. He has also lectured for Road Scholar on Route 66 and the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Ned is a noted photographer and often illustrates his presentations with his own photography.
