At a Glance

Lebanon is a critical backdrop for stories throughout the Bible, referenced 71 times in the Old Testament alone which is full of praise for Lebanon's natural beauty and resources. These stories include Jesus's encounter with the Syrophoenician women and Saint Paul's third journey. This talk will discuss Biblical and historic Canaanites and Phoenicians. We will visit and bring to life the Biblical ancient cities of Tyre, Sidon, Byblos, Baalbek, Beirut, and the Cedars of God, and contrast them with modern time Lebanon. This talk promises to be a journey through the Bible, history, and current scenes from Lebanon and it will lay the ground for better understanding the region's complexity.
