At a Glance

When the Norse first cast their gaze upon Svalbard, their eyes were drawn toward the sky as glaciers and fjords rose out of the ocean. See and learn about the untouched wilderness of Svalbard as the early Norse discoverers did on expert-led hikes and Zodiac rides through the polar waters. Beginning in Oslo, fly to Svalbard’s capital city, Longyearbyen, and set out for the ultimate expedition towards the North Pole aboard an ice-class expedition ship. Weave through western Svalbard’s vast fjords and keep your eyes peeled for polar bears, seals, walruses and whales while breaking through the Arctic sea ice.
Activity Level
Let's Go!
Walking approximately 2 miles daily on uneven and hilly terrain, snowy and icy conditions. Transfers between ship and shore by Zodiac inflatable boat.
