1
Check-in, Registration, Orientation, Welcome Dinner

Activity note: Hotel check-in from 3:30 p.m.

Afternoon: Program Registration, 3:30 p.m. After you have your room assignment, come to the Road Scholar table at the front desk to register with the program staff and get your welcome packet containing your name-tag, up-to-date schedule that reflects any changes, other important information, and to confirm when and where the Orientation session will take place. If you arrive late, please ask for your packet when you check in. Orientation. The Group Leader will greet everyone and lead introductions. We will review the up-to-date program schedule, discuss roles and responsibilities, logistics, safety guidelines, emergency procedures, and answer questions. Periods in the daily schedule designated as “Free time” and “At leisure” offer opportunities to do what you like and make your experience even more meaningful and memorable according to your personal preferences. The Group Leader will be happy to offer suggestions. Program activities, schedules, personnel, and indicated distances or times may change due to local circumstances/conditions. In the event of changes, we will alert you as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

Dinner: After a long day of travel, we will enjoy a hot meal at the lodge buffet, which includes a hot and cold line with both healthy and savory choices. Coffee, tea, water included.

Evening: We will explore the campus of Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood, while learning a little about the history of the YMCA and how it got the name Trout Lodge.

Guided Imagery, Earthing, Laughter Yoga

Activity note: Wear active, comfortable clothing.

Breakfast: At the lodge, our breakfast buffet will include a hot line and salad bar, plus assorted desserts; coffee, tea, water included.

Morning: With our instructor, we will received an introduction to meditation and mindfulness, an introduction to personal mastery, and guided imagery, as well as the act of Meditation on Twin Hearts.

Lunch: At the lodge, our buffet meal will include a hot line and salad bar, plus assorted desserts; coffee, tea, water included.

Afternoon: We’ll learn together about the power of going barefoot in our earthing class before taking the class outside and going barefoot on the sand as we learn about psychic self-defense.

Dinner: Lodge buffet.

Evening: We’ll learn the research behind music as medicine and experiment with different sounds and their corresponding states of mind.

3
Laughter Yoga, Massage, Wellness Planning

Breakfast: Lodge buffet.

Morning: We’ll enjoy a laughter yoga class that shows the power of laughter for wellness, followed by Twin Hearts Meditation.

Lunch: Lodge buffet.

Afternoon: We will receive a relaxing massage from a professional therapist and begin creating a new personal wellness plan.

Dinner: Lodge buffet.

Evening: Ritual dance has been used for most of human history for spiritual and divine purposes. Tonight we’ll learn the doctrines of energy movement and how we can co-create ritual and wellness for ourselves through movement.

4
Washington State Park, Reiki Begins!

Breakfast: Lodge buffet.

Morning: After our Twin Hearts Meditation, we will enjoy a field trip to Washington State Park, where we will explore petroglyphs from the Mississippian Era, learn about pioneer life, and see the historic structures built by the African American Civilian Conservation Corps.

Lunch: Lodge buffet.

Afternoon: We will begin Reiki Level I training as we learn the history of Reiki, the five principles called Gokai, and receive our first attunement.

Dinner: Lodge buffet.

Evening: Our Reiki Level I training continues. We will practice hand positioning for self-healing as well as positions with one another.

5
Reiki Level I, Ritual Campfire

Activity note: Wear active, comfortable clothing.

Breakfast: Lodge buffet.

Morning: We’ll start the day with our daily Twin Hearts Meditation. From there we’ll continue our Reiki training, reciting the Gokai, practicing hand positions, and learn more history. Before lunch, we’ll receive our second attunement.

Lunch: Lodge buffet.

Afternoon: Our Reiki training concludes with a third and final attunement, followed by a wrap-up of the history and lineage of Reiki.

Dinner: Lodge buffet.

Evening: Out on the lodge grounds, we will take part in a ritual campfire, where we will leave behind all unwanted thought forms and create new beginnings for ourselves and the world.

Meditation, Closing Ceremonies, Program Concludes

Activity note: Lodge check-out by 11:30 a.m.

Breakfast: Lodge buffet.

Morning: We’ll enjoy one last Twin Hearts Meditation, followed by our closing ceremony and farewells.

Lunch: Lodge buffet. This concludes our program.

Afternoon: If you are transferring to another Road Scholar program, detailed instructions are included in your Information Packet for that program.
