Sharyn McCrumb
Award-winning Southern writer Sharyn McCrumb is best known for her Appalachian “Ballad” novels, including The Ballad of Tom Dooley, She Walks These Hills, and The Rosewood Casket. In 2014 Sharyn was named a “Virginia Woman of History” for her literary achievements, and she was a guest author at the National Festival of the Book in Washington, D.C. in 2006. She was also honored as the Writer of the Year at Emory & Henry College in 2005, and she’s taught a writer’s workshop in Paris and served as a writer-in-residence at King College and the Chautauqua Institute.
