Pack your sunglasses and get ready for summertime in Alaska, where the sky is bright nearly all night long! Fill up those long days with family adventures. With a cozy small ship as your new home, you and your family will set out to discover a new and exciting frontier, with wilderness experiences at every port. Say hello to frozen glaciers, massive humpback whales, friendly sled dogs and fierce raptors. Take off on a train ride through the mountains, glide by a lovely lighthouse by kayak or guided skiff, and fill up on Alaskan salmon and King Crab as you get a true taste of Alaska!

  • Get up close to Mendenhall and Sawyer Glaciers, and journey by motor skiff or kayak to watch for wildlife on Hobart Bay.
  • Get creative with a craft project inspired by the artwork of the local Tlingit natives, and watch Tlingit NaKaHidi dancers practice traditional song and dance in full regalia.
  • Strike it rich in Skagway as you learn about gold rush history, and ride the rails to the summit of White Pass in British Columbia.

This is a family program for participants, their adult children and grandchildren ages 8 and up. Port order may vary based on permitting for Glacier Bay National Park. The maximum group size for this program will be 46 participants. Because of the special nature of this program, we request that you call us to enroll. Charlie Bean
Charlie grew up on the West Coast in the Sierra Foothills and was immersed in the outdoors from an early age. In college he trained in architecture and aeronautics and later worked as a builder, but over the years found working as a wilderness leader and sharing outdoor experiences much more fulfilling. In 2000 he moved to Sitka, Alaska to work as a youth counselor and has extensive experience in trekking, camping, fishing and kayaking. He is now semi-retired, working summer seasons and traveling winters.
