Evening: Welcome, Facilities Information, and Program Orientation – Downstairs DCC Conference Room.

Bike Whitetop Station to Damascus, Private Concert
Abingdon, VA.

Breakfast: Dining Hall at 4-H Center.

Morning: Depart from 4-H Center for bike and helmet fittings. Bike 17 miles downhill on the Virginia Creeper Trail from Whitetop Station (elevation 5520’) to Damascus (elevation 2100’). Expect temperature increases throughout the day as we drop in elevation. Trip includes intermediate biking through cool, shady national forest on a well-groomed trail.

Lunch: Picnic lunch on the trail.

Afternoon: Return to 4-H Center for Free Time. 4-H Center Swimming Pool is open.

Dinner: Dining Hall at 4-H Center.

Evening: Enjoy a private concert by local Celtic-inspired band Fire in the Kitchen – DCC downstairs conference room.

Bike Abingdon-Damascus, The Harvest Table, Barter Theatre

Breakfast: Dining Hall at 4-H Center.

Morning: Bike 17 miles on the Virginia Creeper Trail from Abingdon to Damascus. Expect mostly level, steady grade, intermediate biking with great views from high railroad trestles. Temperature will increase throughout the day if sunny, but elevation changes will be negligible.

Lunch: Picnic lunch on the trail.

Afternoon: After lunch, there is the option to hang up your helmet and take a trip in the van to Abingdon Winery. Afterward, return to 4-H Center for free time. 4-H Center Swimming Pool is open.

Dinner: Enjoy a local farm-to-table experience at the nationally celebrated Harvest Table Restaurant in Meadowview, VA, approximately 4 miles from the 4-H Center.

Evening: Attend a performance at the world-famous Barter Theatre, a professional repertory theater in Abingdon, VA.

Breakfast: Dining Hall at 4-H Center.

Morning: Depart from 4-H Center (transportation time is approximately 45 minutes). Meet with the kayak instructor and enjoy a guided float down the Holston River on sit-on-top kayaks.

Lunch: Picnic lunch along the river.

Afternoon: Return to 4-H Center for Free Time. Relax and restore in a yoga class from our partners at Whitetop Yoga Studio (Optional – DCC Phipps Room).

Dinner: Dining Hall at 4-H Center.

Evening: Enjoy a historic experience featuring the rich culture of southwest Virginia.

Kayak the Clinch River & Free Evening

Morning: Depart from 4-H Center (transportation time is approximately 1 hour). Enjoy a guided paddle down the Clinch River on sit-on-top kayaks.

Lunch: Picnic lunch along the river.

Afternoon: Return to 4-H Center for Free Time. Relax and restore in a yoga class from our partners at Whitetop Yoga Studio (Optional – DCC Phipps Room).

Dinner: Dining Hall at 4-H Center.
