Lace up your hiking shoes and experience the scenic surprises of mountain streams and the cascading waterfalls of the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Daily hikes of easy to moderate difficulty will lead you to more than 12 waterfalls. Besides enjoying the crisp air and grand scenery, learn about the ecology and culture of upstate South Carolina.

The Retreat Difference: This unique, often basic and no-frills experience at a Road Scholar Retreat includes opportunities for early morning exercise, interaction with the local community for insight into local life, an authentic farm-to-table or locally sourced meal, a live performance or event, and a single room to yourself for only $100 more (for many programs).
