#ThanksLadies

Thank you to all the women who came before us.

At Road Scholar, education is at the heart of everything we do. Our participants make up a diverse community of older adults all with one thing in common: their love of learning.

But education hasn't always come easy for all of our participants.

Educational opportunities for girls and women have not always been equal to those of boys and men, and in many parts of the world, they still are not.

As we celebrate a historic year for American women with the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment, we wanted to look back on the evolution — the revolution — of women in education and celebrate just a few of our brilliant, rebellious, trailblazing women who have overcome countless obstacles in their lives — all in the pursuit of learning and equality.
