President and CEO James Moses started with Road Scholar in 1979 as the organization’s very first registrar. He has also served as the chief operating office, senior vice president of programs and vice president of international programs. JoAnn Bell, Senior Vice President of Program Development, develops and manages more than 5,500 learning adventures in 150 countries and 50 states. JoAnn’s extensive travel industry experience informs her expert insight on everything from where to find the world’s most charming streets to must-see hidden gems across the globe.
Peter Spiers, Senior Vice President of Strategic Outreach, has worked at Road Scholar in various senior roles since 2002. A thought leader on healthy aging, Peter is the author of Master Class: Living Longer, Stronger, and Happier. He dives into all the latest on topics including healthy aging, longevity, learning at every age and retirement.
Our Senior Planned and Major Gifts Officer and an Advisor to the President, Mike Zoob holds the special distinction of being Road Scholar’s first employee in 1977. Mike is also an expert participant who shares his passion for educational travel with his grandchildren on Road Scholar’s intergenerational programs.
