In the beautiful and culturally-rich city of Sarasota, on the shore of Lake Osprey in the nationally renowned Lakewood Ranch stands an idyllic retreat – the perfect home base for this one-of-a-kind learning opportunity. Venture by bus to the sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico to search for rare shells and marine life with naturalists. You’ll be able to relish in the sublime music of Richard Rodgers while learning from experts about the intricacies of his partnership with lyricist Lorenz Hart. You’ll even get the chance to ride an airboat down the Myakka River as you look for rare birds and learn about Florida’s unique river ecology from a local naturalist.


• Visit the 135-gallon shark habitat of Mote Marine Aquarium and Laboratory for an insider’s look at how sharks and other species figure in to cutting-edge cancer research.
• Explore the acclaimed music and 20-year relationship of Broadway composer Richard Rodgers and legendary lyricist Lorenz Hart.
• Witness a play at the Florida State University Asolo Theater to learn why Sarasota is known as the “Cultural Capital of Florida.”
