ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

A trip to Washington was on my bucket list; the Monumental DC program helped to satisfy that desire. I know I will go back because there is so much to see, but it was an excellent continuation of my education about our country.

I would highly recommend this program to anyone who has not been to Washington DC. It was very informative and full of history about our country.

Roger from Birmingham, AL Number of programs attended: 5
Date attended: 10/06/14 - 10/10/14
This program provides three full days (8 am to 8 pm) of touring DCs most famous monuments. Because it is only a few days and you travel from point to point on a very comfortable bus, this pace is very tolerable. As usual, Road Scholar provides experts who add that extra bit of information that makes it even more interesting. The hotel is within blocks of the metro, so you can add a few days before or after to see Alexandria or tour the White House, etc. A great trip for those who have never been to DC or have not been in a long time.

This was my first Road Scholar experience, and I would highly recommend it. I am a 71 year old woman in good health, and our group ranged from a woman who celebrated her 60th birthday with us, to a man who celebrated his 90th! Katie Gnauck, Colorado

Michael from Corsicana, TX Number of programs attended: 1
Date attended: 04/14/14 - 04/18/14
Great program, well designed and well executed. I saw all the great sites I wanted to see and had almost enough time to see them in the depth I wanted. No complaints from me. The accommodations were excellent and the tour guide was very knowledgeable.
