Afternoon: 4:00 pm - Check-in at Stone Lodge and Register with your Group Leader 5:00-6:00 pm - Wine & cheese social to meet and greet fellow participants.

Dinner: 6:00 pm - Dinner in the dining room with your fellow Road Scholars.

Oral Tradition, 2 Mile Stroll, 2017 Mountains of Music

Activity note: Start the morning learning about the Oral Tradion of Appalachia with Alice Kinder. In the afternoon enjoy a guided 2 mile stroll on the Lower Jungle Trail around the property. Finish your evening with the 2017 Mountain of Music Homecoming Concert on the Front Lawn. Sponsored by Virginia's Heritage Music Trail, The Crooked Road.

Breakfast: 7:30-9:00 am - Breakfast available in Harvest Dining Room.

Morning: 9:00am-11:30am "The Oral Tradition of Appalachia" with Alice Kinder

Lunch: 12:00 pm - Lunch in Harvest dining room.

Afternoon: 1:30 - 4:00 pm - Guided 2-Mile Round Trip Stroll along the Lower Jungle Trail.

Dinner: 6:00 pm - Dinner in Harvest dining room.

Activity note: In the morning, enjoy Appalachian Poetry with Jeff Mann. In the afternoon, the trip to Buckeye Mountain Forge includes breaking up into groups to explore Beekeeping, Banjo making, and the art of the Blacksmith. Make your own Iron wall hook to take home! Finish the day listening to Jack Tales, Folk Tales, and Story Telling by Rex Stephenson.
