This exceptional cultural adventure in the Blue Grass State gives you a bucketful of south-central Kentucky insight — and then some! Hear from folklorists, naturalists and musicians about the customs and way of life folks in these parts hold dear to their hearts. Meet and interact with local musicians, hike with a naturalist to learn about the region’s geology, delve into decades-old home Rx recipes and warm up your dancing muscles for some traditional dancing, from square dancing to line dancing.

John Tierney is a retired naturalist with the Kentucky State Parks System. During his 32 years of service, he lead trail walks, cave explorations, and planned many special events programs dealing such diverse nature topics as eagle watches, cave crawling events, bat seminars, wildflower pilgrimages, and environmental awareness programs. He presently conducts programs in state and national parks, as well as presenting programs for community and private organizations.
