LOVED the Coastal Catch: A Culinary Adventure Along Oregon's Beautiful Coast. The title of the program is very accurate. It was so interesting, enlightening and well presented. Highly recommend the leaders, Collin and John. We even saw whales!

What a great experience, the Road Scholar "Coastal Catch." Thank you to everyone who worked hard to make this possible. Everything went lock clockwork and I learned first-hand a vast amount of knowledge. More than ever, I appreciate what goes into bringing food to my plate, especially the efforts of the people on the Central Coast of Oregon. It's an interesting economy, ecosystem, and incredibly beautiful landscape.

This program far exceeded my expectations. The course material was excellent. I learned so much about the Oregon coast and all that it has to offer from the program leaders, John & Collin. I would highly recommend this program to anyone desiring a fabulous and informative visit to Lincoln City, Oregon. A full 10..it has it all, the knowledge base, the scenic beauty, accommodations, and the wonderful dining experiences. Antonia Van Horn

We learned about tectonic plates, whale watching and crabbing, and the life of the fishermen, and the importance of estuaries and animal rescue, and sustainable fishing.

We are relatively new RS travelers having participated in 6 programs over 6 years after 50 years of global independent travels. All of these programs have been quite different but uniformly rewarding for educational and entertainment content. Two features of RS trips that we especially value are the quality of fellow participants who greatly contribute to the experiences, and the subject matter expertise and pride of Group Leaders and Instructors in telling us about what they do and where they live. This was especially true in the case of Coastal Catch; the stories of so many aspects of life and work along the Oregon coast were inspiring, from fishing, wine and beer making, glass art, and fine cuisine to a new appreciation of the local geology and environment. The program was very well designed and flawlessly executed. I won't try to rank this but it is one of my best RS trips. Sally and Jack

This is my fifth Road Scholar trip and, as on other trips, I thought Road Scholar did a great job! I highly recommend this trip!!! It is great value for the money! Our leaders John and Collin were very knowledgeable and helpful. The information on the ecology and geology of the Oregon area was fascinating and previously unknown to me. The discussions of the salmon and tuna industry was also new knowledge for me and helped me appreciate the food that comes to my table. The field trips were fun. The visit to the culinary school gave me several good cooking tips and the enthusiasm of the chefs was contagious. The accommodations were terrific! A great experience!!

An excellent course for learning everything from sea to table. Even the weather, which was stormy in part, reminded us all that the fishermen have many challenges to provide for us all. Having Collin & John to guide us was the best.

I would like to see the website break down programs by interests and by area.

Learning about seafood and the fishing process while being able to see the ocean was a great experience. Seeing the seals and whales from our hotel room was a real plus.

The program experience details are accurate and were thoroughly enjoyed; however, what truly matters is the character, knowledge, expertise, and personality of the team leaders. This particular program was led by the most personable team, and I was delighted by the lovely folks who participated. I have not met a group of people who enjoyed the program the way they did, as individuals and as a group. Together we all had a smashing good time. I will never forget this experience and strongly recommend this trip.

Recently completed my fourth RS program and am anticipating my fifth in a few months. Have greatly enjoyed learning the unexpected, discovering these I didn't know I didn't know, meeting people are open to new experiences and learning. These groups' personas are so different from other "touring" groups I have participated in. Looking forward to retirement and more adventures.

This is an outstanding program. The leaders were great. They shared their knowledge and also kept us amused. We visited great sites with much variety. We learned about many subjects, from earthquakes to wine selection. There was something for everyone. The accommodations were charming and the food was excellent. This was my fiftieth trip wit Road Scholar and one of the best.

This was a delightful and extremely informative program. It was easy going and in a lovely location with each room facing the ocean. I loved being there in late autumn, sometimes wet, Oregon weather.

What a great program! We tasted, touched, toured, ate, drank and learned so much about Oregon and its wonderful bounty. We learned lots about crabbing, salmon and tuna fishing, beer-making, the ocean, Oregon geography and geology, tsunamis, Oregon wines, and much more. We walked on the beach, in the forest, through the Aquarium and Marine Science Center. We had fabulous food cooked in a lovely Culinary Center. The Inn at Spanish Head is a wonderful unique hotel in the most amazing setting with stunning views of the beach and coastline. Top notch instructors made every day a pleasure.
