Afternoon: CHECK-IN & REGISTRATION: begins at 3:00 pm in the office of Mayflower Lodge on Pilgrim Pines Campus. Your welcome packet will include your room assignment, name tag, up-to-date schedule, and other information we will review during orientation this evening. Please be aware that scheduled program activities may be changed due to local circumstances. You will be notify of any changes ASAP. Thank you for your understanding. After you register and get settled in your room, join us for coffee and snacks served from 3:30-5:00 pm.

Dinner: Our welcome dinner will be served buffet style at 6:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room offering a variety of selections, including a salad bar, meat and vegetable entrées, dessert, and drinks of your choice. Gluten free, vegetarian, and special dietary menus are available upon request.

Evening: ORIENTATION: 7:15 pm will include introductions of our instructors and staff, a review of the schedule, safety guidelines and emergency procedures. It is also a time to answer questions and to begin to get acquainted with the other Road Scholar participants. Following Orientation there will be opportunities to gather for conversation, snacks, watch TV, play table games, puzzle making to unwind the day.

Studio Classes, Free Studio Time, Recreational Opportunities

Activity note: Located on historic Swanzey Lake there will be opportunities for recreation and landscape sketching and painting.

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served from 8:00-8:45 am in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring choices of cold and hot cereals, bread to toast, scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon,fruit bar with yogurt and granola, plus coffee, tea and juice.

Morning: After a time of organization, each morning will begin with our outstanding water color artist giving instruction through demonstration, and discussion of different techniques. The morning break will include coffee, tea, water, fruit and a danish roll to renew your energy. The second part of the morning will give you opportunity to work on your own project and move out-of door if you desire. 10:45 am - Schedule for the day - TBA - Determined by weather, sites available, etc.

Lunch: Lunch, will be served buffet style from 12:30-1:15 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room inviting you to choices of a full salad bar, soup of the day, and taco salad and or sandwich, brownies or cookies, and drinks of your choice. Gluten free and special vegetarian menus are available upon request.

Afternoon: The Art Studio is available all afternoon and evening so you can paint when you desire. Your instructor will be available to help and suggest options. This afternoon there will also be free time to choose to relax and enjoy the recreational opportunities on campus.

Dinner: After a full day of intensive work you are invited to a delicious Dinner served buffet style at 6:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room. After announcements and a blessing for the day, the menu will include a full salad bar, meat and vegetable entrées, dessert and choice of drinks. Our professional chefs are always available to provide alternative menus upon request.

Evening: This evening we will gather to learn and enjoy instruction by viewing a couple of art videos. Following the session there will be opportunity for conversation, snacks, puzzle making, table games, etc. to wind down the day.

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served from 8:00-8:45 am in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring hot and cold cereals, bread to toast, french toast, eggs, sausage or bacon, fruit bar with yogurt and granola plus coffee, tea and juice.

Morning: Our morning will begin with our watercolor artist giving instruction through demonstration, discussion, critique and techniques. The morning break will include coffee, tea, water, fruit and muffins to renew your energy. The second part of the morning will provide hands-on time to work on your project and paint in the out-of-doors if you desire and weather permitting

Lunch: Lunch is served buffet style from 12:30-1:15 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room with delicious choices from the salad bar, homemade soup, chicken sandwiches, dessert and drinks. Special menus for dietary needs are always available upon request.

Afternoon: Following lunch you will have an opportunity to take a tour of the 6 covered bridges of Cheshire County. All bridges are within a 10 mile radius and bring your camera to take photos of your favorite settings. After our tour there will be time to paint in the Studio, relax and enjoy a recreational activity.

Dinner: Dinner will be served buffet style at 6:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room inviting you to a full salad bar, meat and vegetable entrées, dessert and drinks. Gluten free, vegetarian meals are always available upon request.

Evening: After dinner entertainment will feature the outstanding local folk artist, After the program you are welcome to a time of conversation, snacks and activities of your choice to conclude the day.

Studio Class, Outdoor Painting in town of Harrisville, NH

Activity note: Weather permitting we will choose one or two of the scenic places in our area for the group to go and sketch or paint.

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served buffet style from 8:00-8:45 am in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring hot and cold cereals, waffles, berries, fruit bar with yogurt and granola, plus coffee, tea, milk and juice.

Morning: This morning our watercolor artist instructor will once again discuss and demonstrate techniques helpful in development of your paintings. The morning break will include coffee, tea, water, fruit and coffee cake to help renew your energy. In the later morning there will be opportunities to the historic town of Harrisville, NH to sketch and paint .

Lunch: After a full morning of creativity you will be ready for a delicious Lunch at the General Store in Harrisville, NH.

Afternoon: This afternoon we will continue to enjoy the scenic choices in the Monadnock region to sketch, paint and take photos. Weather permitting.

Dinner: Our Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring a full salad bar, meat and vegetable entrées, dessert and drinks of your choice. Alternative menus are always available upon request.

Evening: This evening will be open for you to make personal choices of spending time in the Studio, relaxing, reading or getting some early rest. It is your evening to enjoy!

Studio Class, Art Show, Homespun Event

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served buffet style from 8:00-8:45 am in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring scrambled eggs, breads to toast, hot and cold cereals, fruit, yogurt and granola bar along with coffee, tea and juices.

Morning: Once again our watercolor artist instructor will guide our critique, technique demonstration, answer questions as you work to complete your projects for the week. The morning break will feature coffee, tea, water, fruit and homemade donuts to renew your energy. Late morning will give you choices of painting in the out-of-doors or finishing your work in the Studio.

Lunch: Lunch will be served from 12:30- 1:15 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room buffet style including a salad bar, soup, chicken pot pie, dessert and drinks. Please let the chefs know if you desire an alternative menu for dietary needs.

Afternoon: This afternoon you will have an opportunity to finish your paintings, prepare for the art show, relax by the lake and enjoy the work of your fellow Road Scholars.

Dinner: Dinner will be served at 6:00 pm buffet style in the Mayflower Dining Room featuring a full salad bar, meat and vegetable entrées, dessert, and drinks.

Evening: After dinner all of our guests including the participants of the other Road Scholar program in residence will be invited to your Art Studio to enjoy all the work you have done this week. After the Art Show all participants are invited to participate in a Homespun event where they share their favorite story, poem, writing, creative writing, song, joke, etc. Our evening will conclude with opportunities for snacks, conversation, watch TV, play games to wind down the day.

Final Studio Class, Program Concludes

Breakfast: Breakfast will be served from 7:45-8:30 am in the Mayflower Dining Room with a full buffet menu including baked oatmeal, a specialty of the house along with omelettes.

Morning: After breakfast we will have our last formal class time to review the week, talk about what we have learned, do critiques and talk about next steps in our painting journey. Mid morning you will have time set aside to complete the process of checking out of your room and renew your energy with morning coffee. To complete the morning there will be time to talk about resources and ways to support one another.

Lunch: Our Farewell luncheon will be served from 12:15-1:00 pm in the Mayflower Dining Room and will once again feature our full buffet style menu. Box lunches will be available upon request for those who need to leave early or have a long distance to travel. We thank you for sharing with us in the wonderful week of hands-on learning and creative expression.
