Activity note: Welcome to Treehaven, a natural resources education, conference and research center located in the northwoods near Tomahawk, Wis. Participants may check in any time between 3:00-5:30 p.m. Once you are checked in, a delicious welcome dinner will be served in Treehaven's Winterberry Dining Room. After dinner, we will meet in the auditorium for a brief orientation, which will include Information about Treehaven, field trips, daily activities and meals. Questions are welcomed.

Afternoon: Welcome to Treehaven, a natural resources education, conference and research center located in the northwoods near Tomahawk, Wis. Participants may check in any time between 1:15-4:45 p.m. Once you are checked in, a delicious welcome dinner will be served in Treehaven's Winterberry Dining Room.

Dinner: 5:00-6:00 PM WinterBerry Dining Hall.

Evening: Meet in Sylvester Auditorium 6:30-8:00 PM. Welcome, orientation and introductions. Questions are welcomed.

Breakfast: 7:00-8:00 AM WinterBerry Dining Hall.Wake up to the smell of a warm breakfast before preparing to take a field trip to view the scenic banks of Noisy Creek, a stream located near Rhinelander, Wis.

Morning: PHOTOGRAPHY: Field trip to Noisy Creek or explore Treehaven trails (both optional). PAINTING: Group Instruction, Lecture, Demonstration, Indoor/onsite technique class.

Lunch: 12:00-1:00 PM WinterBerry Dining Hall or Field.

Afternoon: PHOTOGRAPHY: Meet in the Sylvester Auditorium to critique previous works and learn a few photography tricks of the trade. PAINTING: 1:00-4:30 PM Open Studio Time. Indoors or out/onsite. Individual instruction as needed.

Dinner: 5:00-6:00 PM WinterBerry Dining Hall.

Evening: PHOTOGRAPHY: Enjoy free time to enjoy relaxation, nature trails, gift shop, etc. PAINTING: 7:00 PM Open Studio Time

Raven Nature Trail, Editing Images, Critique & Lecture

Morning: PHOTOGRAPHY: Field trip to Raven Nature Trail, located north of Minocqua, Wis. The trail features interpretive signs and plenty of benches to sit on to view the old stands of pine and hemlock trees. The trail also offers a plank bridge that crosses a bog, making it easy to get close-up views of pitcher plants and other native flora. PAINTING: 8:30 Group Instruction, Lecture, Demonstration, Indoor/onsite technique class

Lunch: 1:00-2:00 PM WinterBerry Dining Hall or Field.

Afternoon: PHOTOGRAPHY: Free time. Relax and enjoy all that Treehaven has to offer! PAINTING: Open Studio Time. Indoors or out/onsite. Individual instruction as needed. Discuss value and contrast.

Morning: PHOTOGRAPHY: Travel to Otter Lake, a 174-acre lake located near Elcho, Wis.. PAINTING: 8:30 AM Leave for "Birds in Art" at the Woodson Art Musem (Return in time for Dinner)

Lunch: PHOTOGRAPHY: Lunch in WinterBerry Dining Hall. PAINTING: Field/Box Lunch at Eau Claire Dells

Afternoon: PHOTOGRAPHY: You will be given plenty of time to edit the images of scenery, wildlife or activities you captured from the lake. PAINTING: 1:00-4:15 PM Field trip to Equ Claire Dells, Open Studio Time.

Get ready to capture breathtaking waterfalls in northern Wisconsin, nestled within colorful Autumn forests. Once you see the falls, you won't want to leave, which is why Treehaven is packing a lunch for you. PAINTING: Group Instruction/Lecture Demonstration. Watercolor Basics, Materials, and Principles.

Morning: PHOTOGRAPHY: This day is a photographer's dream come true! Travel to the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, where bird watching, viewing fantastic fall colors and nature study experiences await you! You will also visit a bog and take a tour of a local wintery. PAINTING: 8:30 AM Group Instruction/Lecture, Demonstration. Review watercolor washes, demo and practive hard and soft edges.

Lunch: PHOTOGRAPHY: Lunch will be served at Franklin Lake, a 839-acre clear lake. PAINTING: 12:00-1:00 PM Lunch in WinterBerry Dining Hall.

Afternoon: PHOTOGRAPHY: Complete tour of Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. PAINTING: Demo and practice watercolor glazing. Open studio time.

Morning: PHOTOGRAPHY: You will be traveling to The Dells of the Eau Claire Park. Ancient volcanic rock palisades and potholes carved in the rock by the falling water create a unique place at the dells and gorge. PAINTING: Lecture/Demonstration on saving the whites, Demo lifting. Practice saving the whites and lifting.

Lunch: PHOTOGRAPHY: field lunch. PAINTING: 12:00-1:00 PM Lunch in WinterBerry Dining Hall.

Afternoon: PHOTOGRAPHY: Visit Rib Mountain State Park, home of the billion-year-old hill, one of the oldest geological formations on earth. The top of a 60-foot observation tower offers spectacular views of the Wisconsin River. PAINTING: 1:00-4:30 PM Group Instruction/Open Studio Time Outside: Dissecting an image and prep for painting. Painting light to dark (traditional watercolor technique).

This 160-acre park consists of a spectacular swimming beach, picnic areas and shelters, nature trails and a disc golf course. PAINTING : Group Instruction/Lecture and Demonstration. Challenge the instructor, answers to your watercolor questions, pack your field kit for afternoon trip.

Morning: PHOTOGRAPHY:Travel to Council Grounds State Park, located in Merrill, Wis., along the Wisconsin River and Lake Alexander. Native American encampments once occupied the site of Council Grounds. The 508-acre park is a favorite spot for water enthusiasts and offers camping, hiking, hunting and fishing opportunities. PAINTING: Open studio time (indoors or out).

Field Trip to Prairie Dells, Lunch & Grand Finale

Morning: PHOTOGRAPHY: Travel to the Prairie Dells Scenic Area, located near Merrill, Wis. Here you will find one of the largest and most productive trout streams in the area. The Prairie River winds through forestland, farm meadows and thick stands of tag alders on the way to its confluence with the Wisconsin River. After a series of four dams were removed, the Prairie River now flows freely over its entire length. PAINTING: Open studio time (indoors or out).
