The Omni Richmond Hotel is located downtown, two blocks from Capitol Square and adjacent to the historic Shockoe Slip district. The modern hotel, part of the James Center with its soaring glass atrium, is a striking contrast to the 19th century charm of Shockoe Slip, with its preserved architecture, piazza and fountain, and brick walks lit by gas-lamp. Today the Slip houses coffee shops, retail, and first-class dining, all only steps from the hotel. Three blocks away is the restored Kanawha Canal, offering boat rides in season. Views from the hotel rooms include the State Capitol and the James River.
