I was very disappointed with this tour to the point that I decided not to enroll in further biking trips. The bicycles supplied by the third party program contractor were strange (someone said they were Dutch!) and I felt very unsafe using mine. The handlebars were "butterfly" shaped, awkward to use, and gave riders a feeling of tipping over. In fact one rider on the first day slipped and fell into the Kennett Canal. All future Road Scholar trips will be on foot giving me full control over my "equipment"-- footwear, clothing, hiking poles.

This was an excellent tour. Tom and Paul were outstanding guides. The lectures were interesting. The stops in small classic English towns plus Bath, Gloucester, and Stratford-upon-Avon were wonderful. The participants were varied and interesting. I was one of the stronger bikers and some people were a little challenged with the mileage and route but I think everyone did fine and were supported well by the guides and the other bikers. Highly recommended!

A wonderful ride through an historical and beautiful portion of the English countryside. The tour leadership was stellar, very impressive.

Wonderful trip with great tour leaders! Be prepared for riding up and down some hills through lovely English country villages on country roads, and on narrow gravel and dirt towpaths along canals and rivers. Beautiful scenery and countryside. Quintessential rural England.
