Adjacent to Strathcona Provincial Park, on Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada, Strathcona Park Lodge is a wilderness resort offering customized holiday adventures for adults of all ages, summer camps for youth (WYLD), wilderness leadership training (COLT), outdoor weddings, outdoor education for schools, health and fitness workshops, and more. On site general store, two restaurants, a family meal-style buffet and an a la carte café; a lounge where guests can log onto the internet, play board games, read a book or relax and watch the sunset over the mountains; laundry facilities. There are three rock climbing cliffs, a large high ropes course, two zip lines, two giant tree climbs, a low ropes course and about 6 miles of hiking trails; and a south-facing, sandy, protected lagoon with floating raft, beach toys; and a wood fired sauna. All meals at Strathcona Park Lodge are nutritious, healthy, balanced and delicious. There are always options for allergy or dietary needs. Talented chefs create buffet-style and a la carte meals. Dinner (and some lunches) are served at a buffet table in the Whale Room - large and spacious with an awesome deck looking out over Upper Campbell Lake, it’s named for the bleached grey whale bones hanging on the wall. There is always a couple salads, fresh and cooked vegetables, a main course and sides. Plus, a delicious dessert after dinner. Wine, beer and juice is available. Meals change nightly and sometimes even during the meal. Rooms vary in style and layout, most have a queen bed and a twin bed. There have been recent renovations to the Outdoor Centre and the High Bracer Lounge (including accommodation for WiFi). We have purchased a new fleet of canoes for out-tripping and replaced other outdoor equipment, kitchen equipment; and there have been significant green energy upgrades the property. The barn now has a beautiful enclosed upstairs space for group activities and a new outdoor climbing wall.
