Morning: This morning we will be leave Wolf Ridge and head to Lake Superior to visit Split Rock Lighthouse. The lighthouse is a National Historic Landmark and shipwrecks from a mighty 1905 November gale prompted this rugged landmark's construction. Completed by the U.S. Lighthouse Service in 1910, Split Rock Light Station soon became one of Minnesota's best known landmarks. Restored to its 1920s appearance, the light station offers us a glimpse of lighthouse life in this remote and spectacular setting

Lunch: Today we will be enjoying a picnic lunch along the shores of Lake Superior.

Afternoon: We will board the historic M/V Wenonah and enjoy a unique interpretive cruise of Minnesota's fabled Shoreline. On the cruise you'll enjoy a two hour narrated audio/visual presentation on the sights and attractions along Minnesota's most majestic section of coastline. From the Iron Ore loading dock in Silver Bay to the Split Rock Lighthouse. We'll show you the ships that sail Lake Superior as well as the wrecks that lie beneath her icy depths. When we set sail on the lighthouse cruise you'll want to make sure you don't forget your camera. You'll want to take advantage of the photo opportunities you'll only find off shore. It truly is a one of a kind experience! Witness some of the oldest geologic formations on the planet that make up the amazing vistas of Shovel Point and Palisade Head. These monoliths rise over one hundred feet from the lake surface creating beautiful cliffs where Eagles, Osprey, Peregrine Falcons and other wildlife call home. We will us board the Wenonah to enjoy an afternoon of majestic natural scenery, historical landmarks and the wonders of Minnesota's North Shore!
