Class begins at 8:45 a.m. Building #42-Wood Studio which is a short level walk from Holts Lodge.
The breakfast buffet served in Lakeview Dining Hall offers choices such as eggs, sausage, bacon, hot and cold cereals, fruit, yogurt, milk, coffee, tea, water.
Class begins at 8:45 a.m. After introductions, the instructor will demonstrate safety techniques and begin outlining the projects. Students will decide the pattern and begin hands on turning of the wood.
For the noon buffet style meal at the Lakeview Dining Hall, choices will include soup, salads, sandwiches, fruit and perhaps a homemade treat.
After lunch, students will return to the classroom where the instructor will review their progress and provide demonstrations on techniques and equipment.
As the day winds down, you will enjoy a buffet style dinner at the Lakeview Dining Hall with choices such as salad, meat, fresh vegetables, fruit, and homemade breads and desserts.
At 6:30 p.m. we will gather in Holt Lodge meeting room where the evening entertainment will begin. We will travel a short distance (5 miles) by personal car (those without automobiles will be provided transportation) to the historic downtown Ripley area and be treated to a tour of the revitalized Alpine Theater, built in the 1930. Recently brought back to life by the Main Street Ripley non-profit organization, we will learn how the drive of many volunteers has led to the success of a small “Arts” center for the community of Jackson County. While there, we will be treated to popcorn and a classic movie.
