This year marks the 105th anniversary of the Battle of Belleau Wood, America's first great battle in World War I. Join award-winning historian and author, Spencer Jones, as he presents an engaging lecture that honors the heroism and sacrifice of the defenders. In 1918, the newly arrived US 2nd Division rushed forward to hold the line against Germany's last ditch effort to win the war. This led to one of the most intense battles of the war and earned the Marines their enduring nickname of the 'Devil Dogs.' Discover how the legacy of this pivotal battle still resonates today.
