At a Glance
This five-part online lecture series will take you on a journey through the history, buildings and neighborhood stories that make up New York City — one borough at a time. In part three, native New Yorker John Kriskiewicz, an expert on architecture and city planning, takes you on an exploration of Queens, home to stories of the early film industry and jazz music, two World’s Fairs and LaGuardia and Kennedy airports. Queens, area-wise, is New York City’s largest borough and has one of the most diverse populations in the country. John will uncover stories including how this ever-changing borough developed from a collection of isolated villages to planned communities, evolving into the place it is today.
