At a Glance

This five-part online lecture series will take you on a journey through the history, buildings and neighborhood stories that make up New York City — one borough at a time. In part two, native New Yorker John Kriskiewicz, an expert on architecture and city planning, takes you on an exploration of The Bronx, the city’s northernmost borough and home to Yankee Stadium, the Bronx Zoo and the New York Botanical Gardens. John will introduce you to the culinary delights of the “Little Italy” of Arthur Avenue, and architecture from the vast Co Op City to the charm of City Island. He’ll take you from the crowded tenements of Morrisania to the suburban estates of Riverdale and from the Art Deco apartment buildings of the Grand Concourse to the new luxury towers rising along the waterfront in Mott Haven.
