At a Glance

In the Spanish Conquest of the Incan Empire, the city of Cusco was decimated. Temples and palaces were looted of gold and silver once offered to the gods. Is there anything left of these magnificent buildings and their treasures, in a once-spectacular city — capital of the largest empire ever seen in the Americas? We’ll explore the streets of Cusco in search of the remains of a city that long ago disappeared.

The presentation "In Search of Incan Remains — Walking Today’s Cusco City" provided great detail about the Inca Empire including the history leading up to the empire, the culture and beliefs of the Incans, as well as demonstrating how many Colonial buildings are integrated with Incan edifices. Oscar Oviedo Velasco offers knowledge and enthusiasm and keeps you engaged throughout the presentation!

This was an exciting review of the Incas and their accomplishments. Plus it was a great chairside visit to Cusco City.

The ZOOM tour was excellent! The viewer is taken street by street through the city and thereby the history of the Incas, the Spanish, and others. Bonus: great Q&A.
