At a Glance

The ice-covered seas of the far north are among the greatest wilderness areas left on Earth. The biological richness driven by the ice feeds a dramatic ecosystem, but is also threatened by climate warming. Jamie Watts is a marine biologist and expedition leader with 48 high Arctic expeditions under his belt, to Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland and the Canadian Arctic. He will give an overview of the wildlife and landscapes of these areas from the perspective of an expedition ship traveler, including the challenges and threats the high Arctic faces.
