At a Glance

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to grow up with six legs? Everyone's childhood is different, so you can imagine the stories you can get from half a million species of insects! From her insectarium in Costa Rica, Bryna B. will share some of the parenting styles and family dynamics that go on right under our feet and above our heads as she tells entertaining stories about the early lives of invertebrates. This online event for grandparents and grandkids includes a ticket for you AND your grandchildren! Just share the Zoom link you receive with your grandkids (or their parents).

General Notes

This lecture is designed for grandparents and grandchildren, but it is also appropriate for individuals to enjoy on their own. Each single ticket covers admission for both grandparent and grandchild. Just share the Zoom link you receive from Road Scholar with your grandchild or their parents. Your online lecture will take place live over the course of 1-2 hours. All times are listed in the EASTERN time zone. If you live in a different time zone, please adjust your schedule accordingly. This live online experience uses Zoom Webinar, an easy-to-use web video service that includes closed captioning. All you need is an Internet connection and your computer. You will receive a confirmation email when you enroll and a reminder email one week, one day, as well as the morning of the event with a link and instructions on how to tune in. You will not be pictured on screen during the lecture, but you will have the opportunity to ask questions to the instructor live using the Q&A box. Unless otherwise noted in the lecture description, all those who enroll in this program can attend the live event and will also receive a recording of the lecture that you can watch any time within two weeks following the live event. Please note that you will not be able to see, hear or otherwise interact directly with your grandchild during the Road Scholar lecture. You will both be able to type questions for the instructor to answer live. We recommend that you schedule a phone call or video chat with your grandchild for some time after the event so you can talk about what you learned together!
