At a Glance

Step aboard Road Scholar’s favorite ship — the Aegean Odyssey — for a monumental journey into ancient and modern worlds alike. Beginning and ending in Greece, your voyage is marked with unforgettable discoveries as you sail from the ancient marvels of Athens to the diverse culture of Beirut, from the rich traditions of Limassol to the staggering history of Jerusalem, finally reaching the mysterious Pyramids of Egypt before sailing back to Greece. What’s more, unlike most cruise ships that are briefly in port, you’ll have overnight stays in many locations, giving you plenty of opportunity for deeper exploration. This is no cruise, after all — it’s an educational odyssey!
Activity Level
Choose Your Pace
This program offers two activity levels to choose from: one that has less walking and fewer stairs and another at a more active pace.

Best of all, you'll ...

  • Explore the Old City of Rhodes, one of the rare survivors of Europe’s medieval world.
  • Marvel at some of Egypt’s most mysterious and impressive structures, including pyramids at Giza and the Great Sphinx.
  • Discover the churches and synagogues of Nazareth, many of which played a pivotal role in early Christianity.
  • Sail exclusively with ship mates who are all Road Scholar participants, as dedicated to learning as you are.

General Notes

We’ll have up to 350 Road Scholar participants on the ship, divided into groups of 35 for shore excursions. Please note roommate matching is available in categories F, H and L. Give us a call to combine this learning adventure with select dates of "Odyssey at Sea: The Coasts of Italy" (#23512) for even more learning on board the Aegean Odyssey. Give us a call to combine this learning adventure with select dates of "Odyssey at Sea: Holiday Voyage to the Acropolis, Pyramids & Petra" (#23516) for even more learning on board the Aegean Odyssey.
