This program delivered on everything it promised and much much more. The venue was exceptional as was the benefit received in proportion to the minimal cost. Not only did I have a tremendous amount of fun, I learned a great deal and truly feel it has helped me to know myself and feel more positive about life in general. That is an exceptional outcome at any price and far outstripped my expectations.

The program was wonderful. It broadened my appreciation of wellness activities. The variety of activities made the program interesting for all.

Lots of fun and laughter; beautiful, wooded campus in the Ozarks; variety of activities; interesting speakers; good, wholesome food with vegan and GF options; clean, comfortable accommodations.

Trout Lake Lodge YMCA is a wonderful destination in the Ozarks for Road Scholar Programs, this is my 2nd trip there . Love they have a shuttle from the St. Louis airport, makes it easy to get to. All of the staff are so helpful and seem to love their jobs, makes a very happy environment for learning. And a lot of extra curricular activities to choose from too. A++++ Our group was so much fun. We laughed and laughed and laughed some more. then could get serious about yoga, reiki, and meditation. I learned so much that I can now use at home.

Just returned from the Meditation and Movement retreat with a feeling of renewal and a fresh outlook on what comes next in my life. A very busy retreat, but still relaxing. Our group laughed a lot and felt inclusive of everyone.

I just returned from my first Road Scholar program, “Meditation and Movement” and must say it truly exceeded my expectations. I don’t really do yoga, but wasn’t uncomfortable or self-conscious trying. It was a small group experience, which allowed us all to bond with one another and with the various instructors and our wonderful program director. We got to experience and learn about several types of yoga and meditation as well as do some fun activities like a boat ride, a visit to a nearby state park to see petroglyphs, drum circle, and some typical camp activities like archery, riflery, and a night hike. Trout Lodge was the perfect place for a program like this. The facilities were comfortable and the food was plentiful, and the surrounding area was beautifully rustic. I just wish the autumn colors would have cooperated.

Why in the world would I want to go to the Ozarks? I do not know, but the course description grabbed me, and I went. To date, it's the best experiential course I've ever had, and my first with Road Scholars. I could not have been more pleased.

I just came back from the meditation and movement retreat in the ozarks and had an amazing time. It was like being at adult day camp. So many fun things to do and people to meet!

Wonderful setting and accommodations but food is not up to usual RS standards. No real cream for coffee and more like children’s cafeteria. YWCA offers many extra activities for free time if RS program changes.
